Position Overview:
Wild Geese Hotel seeks a dynamic and experienced Event Manager to join our team. The Event Manager will be responsible for planning, organising, and executing various events hosted at our venue, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for event management, outstanding organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute events hosted at Wild Geese Hotel, including cultural festivals, live music performances, corporate functions, and community gatherings.
Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements and preferences and provide personalised event planning services to meet their needs.
Manage event budgets, including cost estimation, financial planning, and expense tracking, to ensure events are executed within budgetary constraints.
Collaborate with internal teams, including catering, audiovisual, and facilities management, to coordinate event logistics and meet all operational requirements.
Source and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and performers, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to quality standards.
Oversee event set-up, execution, and breakdown, providing on-site supervision and troubleshooting as needed to ensure smooth event operations.
Maintain comprehensive event documentation, including timelines, checklists, and contact lists, to facilitate effective communication and coordination throughout the planning process.
Conduct post-event evaluations and analysis to assess event success, gather feedback from clients and guests, and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in event management, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in planning and executing events of varying scales and complexities.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in event management software and tools, including event planning software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
Knowledge of Celtic culture and traditions is preferred but not required.
