A leading investment bank with renowed Events team are looking for an initial 6 month resource to work in partnership with all lines of the business to plan, execute and support primarily client, and some internal, conferences and events.
Event teams are located in key markets in APAC, EMEA, NA and LatAm and comprise of experienced event professional with the specialized expertise and supplier relationships to execute events to the highest standard while closely managing costs.
A very exciting 6 MONTH CONTRACT opportunity based in Sydney CBD.
Please note this is initially a contract and permanent roles cannot be guaranteed.
You will be responsible for:
- Event related responsibilities from inception to execution
- Venue research
- Event proposals
- Budget management
- Event-related reporting
The successful candidate will have significant exposure and interaction with senior management, will be required to have a thorough understanding of business strategy and goals, and be equipped with strategic, financial and project coordination skills.
- Lead event initiatives in region, partnering with lines of businesses, marketing and functions to develop impactful programs aligned to business strategy
- Manage the end-to-end process of event planning, ranging from event briefs, research, approvals, invitee & speaker management, venue set-up, event design, onsite support, production management (audio-visual, virtual event management), budget management and post-event analysis
- Effectively manage external vendors and venues on all event-related matters
- Effectively manage corporate hospitality and ticketing - working directly with ticketing vendors and recording of ticketing through a global ticketing portal for audit purposes
- Provide support across J.P. Morgan franchise sponsorships as well as cross lines of businesses events, ensuring benefits are delivered, effectively leveraged and flawlessly executed
- Manage and keep track of event budgets with a view to cost efficiency
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures with regards to reporting activities and spend, compliance regulations, approval processes and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place
- Accurately maintain Events database which includes (but is not limited to) event metrics, budgets, invoicing, ticketing and event collateral
What we are looking for?
- Degree in Events, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hotel Management, or a related degree is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in event planning and management/execution, preferably in the financial services industry
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and project management skills with the ability to confidently lead and manage events on an end-to-end basis
