Where you’ll be working
Activity Based Management (ABM) is made up of specialists in costing, funding, analytics, ABM applications and stakeholder engagement. The team has overarching responsibility to support the NSW public health system with advice, guidance, education and training in the application, strategic management and progression of activity based management.
ABM's role in the application of activity based management across NSW Health is to:
- Set costing standards and coordinate clinical costing submissions via the District and Network Return (DNR).
- Determine the State Efficient Price for ABF hospitals and small rural hospitals.
- Develop and maintain the ABM Portal and other ABM application tools, education materials and resources used by NSW Health stakeholders.
- Work in partnership with national bodies on the development of new and refined classifications and funding approaches.
- Work with managers and clinicians to review clinical variation based on patient level costing data.

About the Role
As the first point of contact for the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant (EA) provides high-level professional, confidential, organisational support, and regulates and manages the demands on the executives to enable them to achieve the delivery of Financial Services and Asset Management deliverables and strategic objectives.
The EA needs to demonstrate highly developed levels of written communication skills, exceptional organisation skills, exceptional interpersonal skills along with maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professional standards at all times. The EA will manage the diaries, travel, workflow, and coordinate and complete presentations, internal and external reports. The EA will work with the Executive Officer to ensure the workflow of the branch is maintained appropriately.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in providing high level executive assistance and support to senior management and executives in a complex and busy environment.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively and autonomously manage competing appointments and schedules of a large executive group.
- Proven effective communication and relationship management skills with the ability to foster strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage conflict, and negotiate and consult to achieve the desired outcome while dealing with highly sensitive and confidential issues.
- High level organisation skills including the ability to problem solve, plan and prioritise workload, multi-task, meet deadlines, manage self and show commitment to achieving challenging goals.
- Able to apply practical skills in the use of technologies relevant to the role, including Outlook, and other Microsoft products.
- Have nous in knowing when to escalate matters of importance and/or urgency and in making decisions and progressing matters independently.
- High attention to detail and ability to review and prepare written material that is well structured and easy to follow by the intended audience.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
