The Prison Health Services team located at Stuart are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Executive Support Officer for a permanent full-time role.
The Executive Support Officer to provide a high level of confidential, secretarial / Executive Support to the defined specialty teams within the, Townsville Prison Health Service, Nursing Director Prison Health and Specialist Services.
This role will liaise as required with a range of clients from within and external to the organisation.
Prison Health Service, is situated at the Townsville Correctional Centre and staff are subject to security and safety requirements of the Townsville Correctional Centre.

Role responsibilities
- Provide high quality confidential secretarial support and medical typing to consultants and other members of the Nursing Director Nursing Director, Prison Health and Specialist Servcies.
- Exercise judgment when necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined.
- Draft routine correspondence, prioritise incoming correspondence, papers and reports and determine action.
- Organise and collate agendas, arrange and coordinate meetings, provide confidential and accurate minute recording and distribution as required.
- Provide administrative support for the Consultant On-Call Roster, including submission of documentation to Payroll.
- Establish, review and maintain effective administration records systems ensuring clinical information protocols are met.
- Liaise with a wide range of staff, clients and other outside agencies on behalf of the Consultants.
- Participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems, processes and work practices. Identify areas for improvement and recommend and or implement enhancements to existing practices relevant to the Service.
- Assist and support in strategic and operational planning activities.
- Maintain effective time management practices by prioritising daily schedules, correspondence, meetings, appointments and phone calls.
- Salary rates between $2864.10 - $3185.10 p.f. (AO3)

- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- Queensland Corrective Services Criminal History Check: Applicants are advised that this position works in a Queensland Corrective Services facility and requires employees and volunteers to have a current Queensland Corrective Services criminal history clearance as per the Corrective Services Act 2006.
