Are you an ambitious Senior Health & Safety Advisor seeking a dynamic role? Fortescue invites you to join our esteemed Exploration team, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring safety excellence across our diverse exploration sites. This role involves a FIFO basis from Perth, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to a culture of safety while working in unique and evolving environments.
About the Role: As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor reporting directly to the HSES Superintendent within Fortescue's Exploration Team, you'll spearhead the implementation and auditing of Safety Management Systems. Your mission? To foster continual improvement in an ever-evolving exploration environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective leadership to a team of Health and Safety Advisors and Training Advisors
- Collaborate with Leaders to align with the Exploration strategic plan, focusing on HSES performance.
- Coach and mentor Leaders and team members, fostering safety compliance, proactive risk management, and assurance activities.
- Champion the drive towards global safety leadership, embodying personal safety values and supporting Exploration leaders to do the same.
- Support Exploration Contract partners in meeting Fortescue's Minimum Requirements, providing crucial coaching to Supervisors.
- Offer a range of services, including safety training, risk assessments, incident investigations, data analysis, assurance/validation, and presentation of health and safety initiatives.
- Adapt and work in remote settings where Fortescue Exploration operations occur, even in areas with limited amenities and services.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
- Tertiary degree or Diploma in Work Health and Safety or a related field.
- Past involvement in Green and/or Brown Field's Exploration, Drilling, or Mining industries highly valued.
- Safety Auditing qualification as a Lead Auditor (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in ICAM investigations (or similar).
- Current "C" Class (Manual) Western Australian Drivers License or higher.
- Proficient in 4WD operation and Light Vehicles handling.
