We are looking for a Facility / Workshop Coordinator to help us maintain a safe and efficient environment for the design and production of our animatronic creatures.
Our facility in Port Melbourne comprises over 1,700 square metres of office space and 6,500 square metres of well-equipped workshop space. With over 70 employees and still growing, we need someone to help us keep everything running smoothly.
This position would suit a highly organised, self-motivated individual who can work quickly and is not afraid to get their hands dirty. Experience in a busy workshop or production environment (including construction, film, live theatre etc.) is a must.

CORE DUTIES
- Management of health and safety across the organisation, working with General Manager and HSRs, convening WHS Committee Meetings, ensuring compliance with legislation and keeping manuals and policies current.
- Ensure the workshop facility is clean, ordered and efficient in its operation.
- Schedule necessary maintenance and care of EWPs, boom lifts, the gantry crane, forklift, spray booths, compressors, tools and other shared plant, machinery and equipment.
- Oversee facilities and infrastructure including power, water, lighting, air conditioning and air lines, liaising with the landlord’s representatives and induct and oversee tradespeople and contractors when on-site attending to building issues.
- Conduct site inductions for new staff, setting up with tools, equipment and information, as necessary.
- Comply with CTC’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Other duties within the scope of the role as required.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrated passion, expertise and technical experience in a busy workshop and office environment.
- Health & Safety Management experience in a workshop, factory or similar environment.
- Broad technical knowledge and familiarity with of a wide variety of trades and disciplines with a willingness to undertake minor maintenance tasks, where appropriate
- Excellent communication, management and negotiation skills, with the proven ability to work with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Considerable experience in identifying, negotiating with, commissioning and managing external contractors.
- Skills in relevant software applications, notably the Microsoft Office suite and strong experience in preparing and maintaining documentation and spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualification in a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Workplace Health & Safety training
- A forklift license is an advantage
OTHER INFORMATION
- The position reports to the General Manager.
- The position is based at Creature Technology Co. 461 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne
- Standard CTC hours of 7.30am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday, over time, weekend work, or day shifting of your hours to accommodate out of hours work will occasionally be expected as a part of the role
- A current Victorian Driver’s License is required
