Finance Manager

As the Finance projects lead, you will assume a pivotal role in the financial leadership of the organization during a transformative phase marked by private equity ownership and high-growth dynamics. In a period of significant change, your expertise will drive the core financial operations, including financial planning, month-end financial reporting, and process enhancements.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to contribute to and thrive in a dynamic environment defined by private equity ownership, rapid growth, and ongoing evolution. The role is based in Brisbane but will look at candidates in Sydney looking to make a change. Initially a 6 month contract with opportunity to go permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute streamlined financial planning and reporting procedures suitable for a dynamic small company environment, with a specific focus on month-end reporting.
• Oversee month-end financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant standards.
• Manage essential finance functions, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, management accounting, and financial accounting.
• Cultivate relationships with key financial partners, recognizing the unique demands of a smaller company or a professional transitioning from a chartered firm.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting requirements, tailoring compliance strategies for a smaller scale operation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvements tailored to the specific needs of a small company.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performing and agile finance team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Open to first movers from chartered firms on working holiday visa looking for longer term opportunities 
• Ideally a minimum of 4 years of finance experience, with an emphasis on adaptability to smaller organizational structures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, tailored for the challenges of a small business environment.
• Leadership prowess and effective team management skills, vital for a compact and dynamic setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to navigate the close-knit nature of a smaller team.
