About the roleThe Finance & Office Administrator plays a crucial role, providing essential support to the day-to-day operations of CarExpert and in ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
This position involves handling routine accounting and administrative tasks as well as helping to support a positive working environment for all.
This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing the accounts payable end to end process: receipt, coding, and payment as well as corporate card and accounts payable reconciliations.
- Perform the accounts receivable end to end process: creating invoices, coding, reconciling payments received, sending statements, chasing overdue accounts, issuing credit notes.
- Liaise with Marketplace team to ensure disputes are resolved and customer accounts are up to date.
- Liaise with Media Sales team to ensure revenue is reconciled, including prepayments.
- Assist with monthly payroll processing including employee reimbursements, bonus calculations and any payroll related queries in conjunction with our outsourced service provider.
- Assist the Finance Manager and CFO with the month end process by preparing working papers, journals and reconciliations as directed.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of daily internal reports, and others as required.
- Support tax lodgements (activity statements, fringe benefits tax, payroll tax and income tax).
- Support the annual audit process.
- Provide assistance and support with various office administration duties.
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve queries related to finance matters.
Education, Experience & Skills
- 1-2 years’ experience in a finance administrator or assistant accountant position.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance.
- Looking to start or currently working towards CA/CPA qualification.
- A self-starter with a high degree of energy and careful attention to detail. A strong sense of initiative and a process improvement mindset.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to prioritise.
- Execute and exhibit good judgement, high level of professionalism and keeping sensitive matters confidential.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Excellent computer skills, proficient or advanced skill in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, etc).
- A demonstrated ability to plan effectively, and deal with frequent change.
