Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer with extensive experience using Xero. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. As a Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial transactions and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for accurately.
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and on time, including calculating wages, deductions, and statutory obligations such as taxes and superannuation.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding financial matters, providing timely updates and responding to enquiries.
- Problem Solving: Identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial records and take appropriate corrective actions
- Software Proficiency: Utilise Xero proficiently for record-keeping, reporting, and analysis purposes.
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV Bookkeeping.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within an Australian context.
- Extensive experience with Xero accounting software is essential.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and have flexibility to be able to respond to urgent matters when required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
