Finance Officer

This is a unique opportunity to join a major Government Agency based in the heart of Newcastle's CBD in a dynamic and supportive finance team.

This role has the potential to transition permanent as the department will be recruiting for the position on a permanent basis in August this year.

Your new role

The role duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reporting
  
• Completing the bank reconciliation
  
• Processing journal entries
  
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  
• Providing support to the Financial Accountants within the team as required
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Intermediate usage of Excel and utilising various software's (large ERP and various in-house)
  
• Experience in a similar high-pressurised, high-volume environment
  
• Strong attention to detail
  
• Experience working in a high-volume environment
  
• You will display excellent communications skills and will feel comfortable in speaking with various internal and external stakeholders
