What's the job?
As Finance Specialist you will be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of Village financial information as well as performing other tasks for the Resort assigned to you, in keeping with the IHG accounting manual and under the direction of the Manager of Finance & Business Support. Uphold IHG standards for internal controls and support and champion a constant drive for continued improvement in financial performance whilst maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction and employee engagement.
A taste of your day-to-day
- Work closely with Village personnel in the day to day accounting process, identifying areas with control weaknesses and assist in creating/implementing policies & procedures
- Perform adhoc duties as requested by the Assistant Manager, Manager or Director of Finance and Business Support.
- Responsible for the Village day to day accounting process, ensuring internal controls are in place and policy and procedures are enforced
- Perform the daily income audit process for the Village to ensure revenues are captured correctly, do random checks of the Village accommodation, corner shop, staff bar and Diner
- Perform the month-end activities for the Village as well as other month-end tasks for the Resort
- Implementation of internal control measures related accounting procedures and computer systems as per IHG Accounting Manual & Control Self-Assessment (CSA) and conduct monthly inspections and tests to ensure all departments are complying with required procedures
- Maintain up-to-date License and Permit register. Conduct necessary follow up to ensure licenses are valid.
- Perform General Cashier duties
- Overview Accounts Payable functions
- Conduct 3rd party / concessionaire invoice reconciliation and payment
- Assist in Hotel School, Barge, Residence billings
What we need from you
- Tertiary or University Graduate Preferred
- 2 years experience in a hotel or finance related role
- Knowledge of Peoplesoft Financial System and Opera Property Management System would be advantageous
- High attention to detail
- Strong team player
