Our client is an innovative and customer focused provider of B2B Services into a wide range of industry sectors on commercial arrangements that are relationship based via multi-year contracts. Established in 2016, the company has proved to be a disruptive force within its sector via its use of contemporary technology platforms, commercial solutions, unwavering customer experience and innovative approach to problem solving. The finance function is cloud based - process simplicity and automation are actively sought and encouraged, and there are ongoing efforts to confine employee activity to value adding tasks only.
Whilst now well established with approximately 50 employees and growing, its senior management still refer to the business as a start-up and are conscious of maintaining the entrepreneurial drive that has contributed to its success to date. Many of its employee’s hail from larger corporate backgrounds and enjoy the ability to succeed and achieve without the obstacles and complexities that a larger corporate environment often produces.
As an integral member in the organisation, you will be accountable for the financial management of the business and in particular, one significant contract with a large national retailer. You will lead a small team that will oversee:
- Overall Financial governance of the business
- Provision of monthly accounts including Balance Sheet, Cashflows, Profit & Loss
- Provision of management budgets, management accounting data, and regular forecasts
- Monthly account and banking reconciliations
- Managing expenses process, accruals, and report expenditure anomalies
- Strategic advice with respect to process improvements such as new systems, automation of processes or outsourcing opportunities
To be successful in this role, you will draw upon your skills and experience as a commercially orientated and agile leader in a services-based business. Your background is likely to include:
- CPA Qualifications with experience in relevant senior business-related discipline.
- A proven track-record in finance management and preferably experience in contract management and management accounting.
- Experience in a variety of roles including either consultancy practice, operational service provider.
- Experience in managing financial systems, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflows and Forecasting Reports.
- A passion for simplicity, service excellence and customer service.
