About the role:
As our Financial Accountant, you'll oversee our financial operations, managing statements, reports, and ensuring compliance. Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, payroll, and budget analysis. You'll play a pivotal role in maintaining our financial health and driving our success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present monthly accurate and timely financial statements to the management team and Managing directors.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements (ATO, Superannuation, Payroll, STP)
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Fuel tax credit calculations.
- Maintain asset register.
- Cashflow forecast and yearly budget preparation
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/traits:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, CA/CPA preferred.
- Competent in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Proficient in MYOB AccountRight (or similar).
- Payroll experience (Employment Hero experience a bonus).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
- Excellent people and time management skills.
- Experience working in Road Transport field advantageous.
