Financial Accountant

Your new role: 

We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic Financial Accountant to foster collaborative partnerships within Sims Lifecycle Services ANZ and Singapore. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely month-end closings, offering valuable insights into business profitability and performance, and assisting in refining our systems and processes. Based at our Villawood facility, this position presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a company dedicated to sustainable practices in a thriving market. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Deliver high-quality month-end close for ANZ, Singapore, and Japan operations including preparation and posting of journals, ledger, closing stocks and revenue share accrual, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Provide insightful management reporting after month-end close, annually as part of the budget process, and ad hoc forecasting as required. 
• General ledger responsibility for ANZ and Singapore operations.
• Accuracy of Financial Information maintained in Operational Systems Makor and Vadis. 
• Compilation and submission of GST returns.
• Post Sales and Purchase invoices after business approval.
• Fixed Assets Register Australia and Singapore.
• Liaise and assist accounts payable and receivables teams as necessary. 
• Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with business leaders including, Regional Director ITAD ANZ, Singapore Country Manager, and operations and sales team members.
• Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reconciliation and follow-up.

About you:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of finance and/or accounting experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to innovate and improve processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a quantitative aptitude
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• Experience with MYOB is highly regarded.
