About the Role
The Financial Controller will play a key role in the implementation of the strategic plan working collaboratively with the Leadership Team organisation-wide. This role would suit a finance leader with a supportive leadership style who is passionate about business partnering and developing a high-performing finance team that non-finance teams want to work with. You will be driven to improve systems and processes and have the opportunity to develop dashboards that represent a single source of truth for both financial and non-financial data and provide transparency of key performance indicators. Day to day you will manage the team to deliver all the usual tasks including a budget, forecast, executive and board reporting, management reporting and analysis to support evidence-based decision making, statutory reporting, financial management of grant-funded contracts, lead the audit process, payroll, and more.
Financial Management:
- Oversee all financial processes including accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable.
- Lead month-end processes and provide comprehensive analysis to the CFO.
- Manage grant funding lifecycle ensuring compliance and optimal outcomes.
- Ensure cash flow management aligns with policy and supports operational needs.
- Prepare financial statements compliant with Australian Accounting Standards.
Strategy Implementation:
- Operationalise the organisation's strategic plan.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Participate in projects, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives.
Leadership & Management:
- Foster a supportive leadership style.
- Manage day-to-day operations and develop team skills and experience.
- Build and lead a high-performing team.
Business Partnering:
- Build strong relationships across the organisation and with key stakeholders.
- Understand operational drivers and industry standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budget process with transparency and ownership.
- Develop and maintain budget assumptions aligned with key metrics.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and annual forecast to provide visibility of financial position.
Management Reporting:
- Prepare the monthly management report for the executive and board.
- Lead the team to deliver monthly management reports for budget holders.
- Provide strategic and operational reports to the CFO.
- Develop new management reports as required.
Analytics:
- Develop Power BI dashboards which ensure a single source of truth for financial and non-financial data and enable performance tracking.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Systems & Process Improvement:
- Review and improve financial processes and systems.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls.
- Drive a culture of continuous process improvement.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will meet the following criteria;
Qualifications & Licenses
- CA/CPA or equivalent qualification.
- Degree in a related field.
- Current WA driver’s license.
- Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Skills & Experience

- Extensive experience in similar roles with a transferable skillset.
- Exceptional organisation and planning skills.
- Excellent Excel skills.
