Lawrence (VIC) is a large locally owned SIXT franchise with 30 locations across Victoria and South Australia.

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced Financial Controller to lead our Finance, Motor Vehicle Claims and Administration team based at our Dandenong Head Office.  Reporting to the CFO you will be responsible for a team of ten and will be expected to manage all aspects of Finance, Claims and Administration and provide accurate timely reports to internal and external Stakeholders.

Exceptional financial, excel and accounting systems knowledge is vital together with experience in managing a large asset register.  High attention to detail, strong leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously are essential and experience with MYOB/EXO software will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Fleet accounting and analysis including on-fleeting and off-fleeting a large volume of vehicles and management of the Asset Register
• Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Production of accurate, timely P&L and Balance Sheet reports together with analysis and observations on monthly results
• Managing the daily and monthly duties of your accounts team
• Bank Reconciliations including a large volume of eftpos transaction receipts
• Accounts Receivable monitoring, reconciling and collections 
• Accounts Payable monitoring and authorisations 
• Fortnightly payroll for approximately 150 employees
• Payroll tax, Workcover and insurance requirements
• Providing support, training and assistance to all accounts team employees
• Continuous improvement of processes to maximise operational efficiencies;
• Maintaining relationships with customers and processing account applications
• Liase with external auditors and tax accountants to produce annual audit and tax return reports
• Managing relationships with key finance institutions and partners
• Royalty calculations
• Managing the insurance and claims team with processing and recovering from motor vehicle claims
• Process improvements within the team and relevant ongoing projects
• Providing timely vehicle\asset finance
• Reporting
• Provide assistance to the CFO when necessary
• Other ad-hoc duties as required

Qualifications and Experience:
 

• Degree qualified with sound knowledge of accounting skills and standards
• Membership of CA\CPA Australia (or working towards)
• At least five years post qualification experience in a similar role
• Prior experience in managing a high volume asset register
• Advanced numerical and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer skills including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage and mentor a team
• Experience in a SME business
