About the role:
Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager – Corporate Services will have a centralised position overseeing our client’s corporate functions including Business Operations, Financial Management, Project Management Office, and Events and Partnerships.
The role will assist the CEO to lead the extended Leadership Team, collaborating closely with all internal General Managers and senior management heads to ensure cross-functional strategies and initiatives are accomplished cohesively and collaboratively.
A snapshot of this role’s responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations and streamline processes to ensure efficiency, quality and scalability across Business Operations, Financial Management, Project Management Office and Events and Partnerships.
- Business Operations: Lead and oversee the operational team along with identifying, developing and implementing opportunities to mitigate risks and optimise the efficiency, productivity and quality of operational processes.
- Financial Management: Lead and oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and risk management.
- Project Management Office: lead the PMO including overseeing management of the project portfolio and the efficacy in which projects are carried out and completed.
- Events and Partnerships: Lead and oversee the events and partnerships team ensuring corporate events, conferences, exhibitions and alliances with key stakeholders are seamlessly executed in accordance with operational and strategic needs.
To be successful you will possess:
- Legal qualifications with a strong understanding of legal frameworks, regulations, and compliance standards relevant to corporate operations.
- Experience in planning, executing, and evaluating corporate events, conferences, and exhibitions.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and leveraging events and partnerships to support business objectives.
- Proficiency in understanding of financial acumen, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Experience in conducting financial analysis, interpreting data, and providing actionable insights for decision-making and optimisation.
- An ability to oversee day-to-day operations with focus on long-term strategic goals.
- Experience in change management, including fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and adaptability.
- Expertise in leading a PMO, prioritising projects, assessing risks, and ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Ability to establish governance frameworks, deliver projects within scope, budget, and schedule, and provide comprehensive project reports and insights.
- Proficient in preparing and presenting reports to the Board, providing financial insights and recommendations to optimise performance.
