Position Summary:
As the General Manager - Finance and Commercial Operations, you will hold the position of CFO and Commercial lead, overseeing the financial and Commercial functions of the organisation. This includes overseeing Finance, Information Technology, and Business Services to drive the long-term success of the organisation. Your role will require innovative financial leadership and the ability to provide strategic commercial advice to support the business growth and sustainability.
Additionally, you will be responsible for serving as the Company Secretary for the Board and ensuring the implementation of robust risk management processes. Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating with other members of the Executive Leadership Team, this role is instrumental in providing essential commercial leadership to manage current operations and identify new opportunities for the organisation’s future growth.
In summary, as the General Manager - Finance and Commercial Operations, you play a critical role in guiding the business towards a dynamic future by overseeing financial strategies, driving commercial initiatives, and ensuring effective risk management practices.
Specifically, key accountabilities include:

The ideal candidate for the role should possess tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business Management, or a related field, with a preference for those holding a Master’s degree. They must demonstrate a successful track record of senior leadership within complex organisations, showcasing strong business acumen and Commercial thinking. Experience in diversifying revenue streams, along with proficiency in project and grant management, are essential attributes for this position. Additionally, knowledge and practical experience in cyber security and digital transformation initiatives are highly valued.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are paramount, as the candidate will be required to build and maintain robust relationships with members, partners, and stakeholders both internally and externally. They should have a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Moreover, strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary, enabling data-driven decision-making to drive performance improvement.
