The Hannan’s Hotel is currently looking for a Head Chef to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow and further develop a long-standing Kalgoorlie hotel. The Hannan’s Hotel is iconic to Kalgoorlie. Featuring a front bar and bistro. It is currently under a revamp with a renovated kitchen already up and running.
Previous experience in this working environment will be highly regarded, along with demonstrated experience in quality pub and bistro cooking.
What we would love you to have:
- Hold an Advanced Diploma, Diploma or at least three years of relevant experience in the industry.
- Leadership skills to inspire and motivate the team
- Focus on quality and consistency whilst controlling costs
- Great communication skills
- Organisational and time management skills, with experience in all kitchen operations and logistical requirements
- Cleanliness is paramount, along with regard to food safety requirements
- Understanding of stock control & ordering processes
- Able and willing to work shift work, including weekends and public holidays
- Full Australian working rights
- Experience in organising and executing functions of a range of sizes
- Ability to work well under pressure
- It’s an open kitchen, so personal grooming and presentation is a must.
- Experience in pizza cooking.
- understanding of A La Carte menu and buffet
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Rostering
- Ordering
- Stocktaking
- Food costing
- Menu creation
- Developing staff
