Silverstone has partnered with an accomplished and highly reputable mining services company within the industry and proven track record of success. Given their continued growth and success, they are seeking additional Health & Safety Advisors for FIFO projects within WA.
The positions are permanent full-time roles, however given their growth there are also opportunities for those looking for short term contracts on a casual basis.
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a hands-on role in coaching, advising, and guiding the workforce on all matters of safety management.
Given the range of sites, there are both 8:6 and 2:1 rosters available.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Promoting effective communication and discussion on health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and resources.
- Conducting investigations and audits when required
- Hazard review, monitoring and reporting
- Contribute to pre-start and safety committee meetings
- Ensuring ongoing compliance of all safety systems
- Administrating safety and training data
- Mitigate risk through a proactive approach
- Compile reports, both internally and externally
To be successful, the following criteria will be highly regarded:
- Relevant Occupational Health and Safety qualification (minimum cert IV)
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role
- Valid C Class WA Drivers Licence
- Competent in MS Word and Excel
- Investigation and auditing experience
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Ability to build rapport and influence
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol
