About the Role:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and being part of the Leadership Team, this is a dynamic position for a dedicated Health and Safety professional. The primary focus of this role is to focus on the continual development of our safety culture and workplace that strive for an injury and incident free work environment.
You will be required to drive compliance and improvement in health, safety, and environmental activities across the business. Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Lead the safety effort for FSI, contributing to the development of strategies, lead the implementation of actions and partner with stakeholders to improve safety outcomes.
- Champion the WHS risk assessment program, including assessment, incident investigation, corrective action, and auditing, as well as ensuring a focus on Behavioural Based Safety and culture.
- Monitor and communicate on performance to improve decision making regarding WHS and to integrate into business decisions.
- Engage in effective WHS consultation, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant WHS legislation.
- Develop, monitor, and integrate WHS operational plans and practices into daily operations, while ensuring all employees receive appropriate WHS training and mentoring.
- Ensure adherence to all company principles, policies and requirements related to Health and Safety and Environment.
- Ensure that WHS performance data is entered, available, and reported accurately on a weekly/ monthly basis through the WHS System MYOSH.
- Manage workers' compensation programs, liaising with external providers to ensure proper management of injuries and Return to Work Programs.
About You:
You will have Health and Safety Qualifications and be able to demonstrate experience in Health, Safety and Environment areas. You will need to be a facilitator, negotiator and influencer, as you strive to strengthen our safety culture whilst fostering preventative and proactive safety and environmental performance. In addition to the above, the successful candidate will have:
- WHS qualifications Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety or similar tertiary qualification.
- WHS management experience, including management systems, risk assessment & accident / incident investigation in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid working knowledge of national / state / local legislation & industry codes.
- Developed capability to understand & influence behaviour.
- Successfully demonstrate ability to manage change, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritise work and manage your time.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- WHS System knowledge such as MYOSH will be highly regarded.
