We do more than collect the bin from your street, we also convert waste into clean energy, divert food waste from landfill and convert to compost, manufacture customised waste management equipment, asbestos removal, refine and recycle oil, manage and maintain our fleet inhouse and have our own bespoke technology systems.

Our teams include Drivers/Operators, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, IT/Digital, Environment, Engineering, Industrial Chemists, Safety, Administration and much more . . .

THE ROLE 

As a HR Business Partner - Employee / Industrial Relations Specialist you will work in our Corporate Governance Team.  You will provide guidance and advice to our business and depot leaders around employment-related matters, in a legally compliant manner that aligns with company policy. 

This role offers a large amount of variety and autonomy.  With the flexibility to choose the hours that match your availability and our business operations.

With a key focus on compliance and business support; you will be skilled in providing advice and eager to follow up with details to business leaders so they can manage the process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with ER/IR support on a day to day basis - including via phone, email and Teams meetings
  • Review internal and external communications via shared inbox
  • Establish and manage relationships with depot and business leaders
  • Mentor and support the managers and team leaders in the business with HR/ER & IR enquiries
  • Offer guidance and ensure compliance in relation to laws, regulations and requirements; including OH&S - with an understanding of return to work processes
  • Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement
  • Provide advice and support to people leaders that are compliant with employment legislation and industrial instruments, including: redundancies, performance and discipline management, grievances, fit for work process, and privacy matters
  • Interpret and advise on broader compliance with the Fair Work Act, Workers Compensation Legislation (Nation-wide) and Modern Awards
  • Drafting bespoke employment contracts and update company policies
  • Provide ad-hoc employee-related support to the wider team

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resources, or a related Major is preferable
  • High attention to detail 
  • Comprehension of relevant legislative and industrial requirements 
  • Proven time management and organisational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team and autonomously
  • Excellent people management and communication skills
  • Experience in transport, logistics or service industry - preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in management of full HR/ER/IR processes including associated administrative components
