The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced HR Officer/Administrator to join our team at Zig Zags OSHC, to provide human resources support to our outside school hours care services. Reporting to the Business Manager and supporting the Area Manager and Quality Manager you will play a key role in coordinating a diverse portfolio of activities and be responsible for end-to-end recruitment and generalist HR administrative tasks. 

Due to growth of the company, the HR professional/Administrator position is a newly created role.

This is a permanent 37.5 hours per week full-time position Monday-Friday based at our Head Office in Wangara. Hours negotiable based on right candidate and the requirements of the role.

The essence of the role

  • End-to-end recruitment initiatives; selection criteria, advertising, pre-screening, shortlisting, scheduling interviews, reference checks and onboarding processes.
  • Confidentially and accurately maintain recruitment database, personnel data and HRIS software.
  • Develop and maintain procedures relating to human resources administrative functions of the service.
  • HR inbox management, workflows and ad hoc HR administrative tasks.
  • Maintain Human Resources governance processes including working with children check compliance.
  • Policy and procedure compliance review and reporting.
  • Performance review coordination and tracking including scheduling and record keeping.
  • Assist with professional development, workers compensation, injury management, leave management, and various other processes and projects aligned to skillset. 
  • Coordinate job task analysis and competency assessments.
  • Ability to prioritise work schedules and tasks to meet ever changing work demands.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the quality systems.
  • Able to work as a team and autonomously with the drive for continuous improvement.
  • When required perform other general administrative tasks in an accurate, reliable, timely and honest manner.
  • Be passionate and take initiative identifying best practice human resources administrative systems.

What you'll need

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years administrative experience or minimum 1 year HR based experience. 
  • Current WWCC and Education Department National Police Clearance
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent computer literacy including office based programs
  • Sound decision making ability and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer service skills - with the ability to handle difficult conversations
  • Accurate document and data record management skills and experience 
  • Ability to manage a range of tasks in a fast-paced team environment with attention to detail and exemplary time management skills is essential
  • WA drivers licence and own transport

Desirable:

  • Qualification in Human Resource Management or similar, preferred but not essential.
