We are currently seeking an experienced HSEQ professional to lead the health, safety, environment, training, injury management, and quality function across the business and our 150-170 staff.
Reporting directly to the CEO/MD you will collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to support in the delivery of our strategic and operational objectives. You will use your expertise to increase the effectiveness of our HSEQ systems and processes, ensure the business and team have the support they need to meet our obligations and drive our safety culture, and support and mentor the HSE and leadership team.
The Position
As the HSEQ Manager, you will:
- Lead the HSEQ function and culture across JSW’s project and corporate sites to ensure projects are supported to be delivered safely, with the highest quality standards.
- Provide HSEQ guidance across all levels of the organisation and liaise with clients, external and internal parties as the primary HSEQ point of contact.
- Develop and implement HSEQ improvement programmes and initiatives.
- Communicate information on the HSEQ Management System throughout the organisation.
- Develop and implement the HSEQ Audit Programme on an annual basis to support the maintenance of ISO accreditations.
- Provide ongoing expert advice and hands-on practical guidance to field operations, working to develop employee understanding their HSEQ roles, responsibilities, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee/assist in the management of injuries and workers compensation claims.
- Conduct investigations into HSEQ-related breaches or hazards, providing reports and recommendations, using appropriate root cause analysis techniques.
To be considered you will ideally have:
- 10 + years’ within HSEQ and 5+ years in leadership position within the mining and resources sector, with drilling or blast experience advantageous but not essential
- Relevant qualifications and training in Health and Safety, Training, Quality and/or other relevant areas.
- Exposure to ISO 45001 / 14001 system development and maintaining certification
- Experience managing ICAM investigations, conducting audits and incident / emergency response
- In-depth knowledge of QHSE regulations, standards, and best practices with the demonstrated ability to drive a safety-first culture and implement effective QHSE initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
