Our Business
Organisational Services supports, equips and helps guide Council to deliver the Brisbane Vision through centralised corporate services and a customer-focused approach.
Our Branch
As part of People and Culture (PaC), the Strategy, Policy and Reporting team translate strategy and insights into performance. We do this by being trusted partners whose goal is to work with business areas to build and enable strong and vibrant workforces and an organisation focused on delivering community value.
The Role
We are looking for three amazing Human Resources Business Partners for between 3 and 12 months (with a possibility for extension, but not guaranteed) to work with divisions and work areas to provide strategic advice and guidance to help develop plans for their workforces, for today and for the future.
You will be focused on helping Council achieve positive outcomes for our people and culture through contributing to the success of divisions and their businesses. Well supported, you will collaborate across your division to provide strategic advice and address workforce opportunities or challenges to support leaders in achieving business outcomes including:
- divisional and organisational people and culture strategy
- workforce planning, succession planning and talent management
- organisational design and change management
- organisational development (OD) interventions
- performance leadership and coaching
- employee engagement
- strategic reporting and data analysis.
To be successful you will have:
- an ability to quickly develop close and trusted relationships with divisional managers, executive officers, general managers and key stakeholders across division
- an understanding (or ability to rapidly develop an understanding) of The People Strategy and PaC agendas to support divisional strategy and future direction setting including development and translation of strategy to operational contexts and solutions
- experience in handling complex challenges and opportunities under pressure in sensitive and rapidly changing environments
- courage and confidence to provide frank advice and support leaders at all levels to navigate through a range of people scenarios
- masterful coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills
- understanding of business analytics to draw insights
- a collaborative and employee-centred approach to people and culture
- a great sense of humour, growth mindset and successful wellness habits and support mechanisms to ensure your sustainability in the role.
