IT coordinator is a critical role, working as the custodian of Foodbank WA’s information technology systems and networks. The role will perform both technical and administrative tasks to ensure functionality and efficiency of computer and telecom systems, creating the ICT framework and interacting with critical ICT service providers. Whilst the role will work under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, there will be a requirement to work unsupervised, complete tasks with accuracy and in a timely manner. The IT coordinator requires technical and administrative skills to ensure functionality and efficiency of computer and telecom systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Institute protocols for the use of IT across departments and projects;
- Provide advice on the most suitable IT choices;
- Provide technical support or enabling training for systems and networks;
- Act as link between end users and higher level support;
- Install and configure software and hardware (printers, network cards etc.);
- Monitor system and network performance;
- Perform troubleshooting;
- Performance maintenance activities checks;
- Request IT service provider regular updates on licenses and upgrade schedules;
- Collaborate with other professionals to maintain standards and functionality;
- Assist on project management of systems implementation.
Essential Criteria:
- BSc/BA in information technology or computer science is preferred;
- Proven experience as IT coordinator or similar role;
- Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications;
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN configuration;
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Great attention to detail; and
- Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in network management and help desk support is appreciated
- Certification (CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ etc.) is a plus;
- Experience working in a busy and high-pressured environment;
- Sound financial acumen; and
- A commitment to quality control and meticulous attention to detail.
