The Opportunity

Based at our Dandenong Head Office, the Operations IT Helpdesk is a key position in the Network Planning Department that contributes to keeping Melbourne moving. 

This role is responsible for providing direct support to internal and external stakeholders regarding the business systems we use to provide a reliable and professional service which meets customer expectation and Ventura's contractual requirements.  Three key focus areas of this role are:

  1. In-Bus Hardware and Software integrity
  2. Technical support and relationship management with stakeholders
  3. Product development and innovation

This role offers the right candidate an opportunity for a long-term career in public transport planning and logistics. Duties of this position will include:

  • Maintain accurate operational information in in our software systems.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders for system integrity and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work with schools to maintain database information.
  • Work within a team to develop and implement initiatives as required.
  • Provide system familiarisation training to frontline employees as required.
  • Be a bridge for technical support tickets from frontline employees to software suppliers.


About you

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to confidently liaise with external and internal stakeholders
  • Public Transport industry experience is highly regarded
  • Helpdesk and/or ITS experience is highly regarded
  • Ability to work comfortably with software programs and technology systems – exposure to systems such as TIMS and BusMinder are highly advantageous but not necessary
  • A lateral thinker with excellent time management skills
