This renowned not-for-profit Research Institute dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals affected by sleep and breathing disorders is seeking a IT Support Specialist to support the IT Manager. Main Purpose of the Role:
Assist the IT Manager in maintaining the integrity of the IT network and provide timely technical and end-user support with IT and audiovisual service issues.
Key Result Areas:
- Timely response to IT needs
- Effective communication with users and management
- Monitoring, reporting, and resolution of IT issues
- Maintenance of IT integrity
- Prompt response to external stakeholders
- Management and resolution of level 1 and 2 service desk incidents/requests
- Provide Macintosh and Windows PC end-user support
- Support on Office 365, SharePoint, Windows Servers
- Maintain hardware and software inventory
- Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot desktop applications
- Assign and maintain user access to network drives
- Record and document requests using the IT service desk system
- Manage server infrastructure, OS & Anti-Virus updates, and new applications rollout
- Troubleshoot network connectivity in LAN/WAN environments
- Configure and support remote desktop access
- Monitor and manage Storage System and Backups
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Escalate server issues to the managed service provider
- Monitor and report on security breaches
- Support audio/visual systems in boardrooms, meeting rooms, and other spaces
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a complex environment
- Ability to perform well under pressure, manage conflicting priorities, and meet deadlines
- Experience in Microsoft operating systems, MAC OS, Active Directory, Exchange\Outlook, Office 365, TCP/IP, Symantec Anti-virus, Wireless networks
- Experience with small or medium storage systems
- Up-to-date working knowledge of computer technologies
- Written and verbal communication skills
