Vertu Equipment is the appointed Victoria, AU New Zealand & Pacific dealer for SANY Global, Excavators, Roading and Construction Equipment. We stand behind SANY, one of the world's largest excavator and construction machinery manufacturers, through providing a range of heavy machinery with superior quality and services to the Australasian market. We have three branches in New Zealand including Auckland, Christchurch and Tauranga and one branch in Melbourne Australia. 

We are looking for a Lead Technician / Workshop Foreman to join our Melbourne team. This is a varied and challenging role and will have ultimate responsibility for our workshop and technicians with pre delivery, scheduled servicing, breakdowns and warranty repairs.

Main Functions of role:

• Responsible for job allocation and job flow in accordance with After Sales Tasks/Enquires List.
• To facilitate customer issues arising from products and suggest appropriate solutions. 
• Designated point of escalation for technical matters requiring attention, ensuring problem resolution
• To identify appropriate courses of action for breakdowns and/or other issues
• To manage work in progress and ensure compliance of operation standards
• To oversee the quality of service and repair standard 
• To undertake service jobs as per requirement.
• Foster and mentor a strong company culture and grow other technical staff capabilities
• To assist in main machines and parts sales

Our requirements:

• Senior level mechanic (foreman experience is advantageous)
• Good overall knowledge with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical
• Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in construction earthmoving equipment
• Autonomous self-starter who can get the job done without necessarily a clear path in front of them
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Display a positive and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude
• Build rapport with clients and assist in growing the SANY brand in Victoria Australia.
• Ability to work to and meet strict deadlines
• Able to work flexible hours when/as required to meet client expectations
