We are looking for an experienced Learning and Development professional to work with us supporting our staff training needs in a growth period of our organisation and beyond.
About Nexus Inc
Nexus Inc is an NDIS registered, not for profit organisation. We employ approx. 500 staff who provide support and Development opportunities for people who require physical, social, and psychological supports. Nexus Inc. Supports clients throughout the south and the north-west of Tasmania.

Your Role as a Learning and Development Coordinator
As part of your role as a Learning and Development Coordinator your key duties will predominantly be:
- Evaluate the learning needs of Nexus Inc staff and develop a fit-for-purpose training and Development program for the organisation.
- Coordinate the delivery of a training and Development program to uplift capability across the organisation consistent with strategic and operational plans. Design and execute training calendar to reflect the Learning and Development programs as scheduled.
- Liaise with external consultants, training professionals and training organisations to provide specific technical training programs and qualifications.
- Design training that reflects evidence-based practice in the support of the clients of Nexus.
- Establish and maintain interactive and consultative interactions with appropriate stakeholder organisations and key industry or sector cohorts in achieving organisational objectives.
Successful candidates will have the following (Selection Criteria):
- Knowledge and expertise: High level experience in training and Development, with proven experience in developing and leading organisational capability uplift strategies and processes.
- Supports strategic direction: Highly developed research, conceptual, creative, and analytical skills with the proven ability to provide authoritative and comprehensive advice, resolve complex issues, and proven problem-solving abilities.
- Achieves results: Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement organisational projects and strategies within agreed timeframes and with stakeholder engagement. Proven ability to uplift capability across an organisation through the development and implementation of a training and Development program.
- Supports productive working relationships: High-level interpersonal and leadership skills, with a proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships and resolve conflict; demonstrated capacity to empower others to achieve outcomes and harness the benefits of a diverse range of views.
- Displays personal drive and integrity: Demonstrated capacity to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team; proven ability to work under pressure; ability to provide impartial and forthright advice and maintain perseverance and positivity in difficult situations.
- Communicates with influence: High level oral and written communication skills, enabling the articulate and persuasive presentation of ideas; demonstrated consultation and negotiation skills, and the ability to anticipate stakeholder positions to proactively collaborate accordingly.
- Experience in delivering training and developing programs relevant to or within the disability services sector or a similar service delivery environment (essential).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable).
Some intrastate travel is required.
Working in the disability sector means you will also need the following:
- Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old)
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (with an NDIS endorsement /employment type)
- Unrestricted Tasmanian Driver’s license
- Certificate of full Covid 19 vaccination (in-line with government requirements).
Note: A pre-employment physical will be required for this role (including drug and alcohol testing).
