About the Role
The key focus of our Learning & Capability Manager is to drive competency uplift in the business unit to support operations in achieving performance measures. This position will focus specifically on supporting the learning and capability needs of our Victorian Workers Compensation business unit, whilst leading a team of Technical Training Specialists to deliver and develop technical training for claims staff.
You will strategise, develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of a comprehensive learning and capability framework aimed at enhancing the skills, capabilities, and compliance standards. This role must balance the local operational needs with the national Learning & Capability strategy to ensure that the function operates as efficiently and effectively as possible.
The role is a full time, in office position providing advice directly to the General Manager and operational leadership.
How you'll make an impact
You will add value to Gallagher Bassett across the following:
- Leading a team of Learning Specialists & Capability Specialists to refine, scale, and monitor the current learning and capability framework to ensures it achieves required capability uplift in line with key business performance measures
- Conducting training needs analysis and confirming capability gaps to develop necessary programs or coaching solutions to meet the needs of individual staff
- Partnering with external stakeholders, key managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) regarding training material relevance, accuracy and alignment to business needs
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of all training program
- Providing regular reporting on training and development metrics to senior management, including outlining learning and development outcomes, budget utilization, and recommendations for improvements, compliance rates and meaningful training ROI's
- Working closely with operations to understand and anticipate the future training needs of the business given the strategic direction of the business
- Enhance collaboration between across all stakeholders to ensure competency uplift is consistently applied at a local level.
- Overseeing maintenance of records of learning and development activities and reporting on employee progress utilizing GB's learning management system and competency tracking systems;
- Monitoring effectiveness of programs/courses based on manager and employee feedback and proactively identify continuous improvements to leadership teams
About you
We're looking for an engaging Learning and Development Leader who also has:
- Experience in a similar role with demonstrated capability in designing, developing and facilitating technical training to uplift capability is essential
- Extensive experience with leading and coaching high performing teams through training and development to achieve success
- A passion for developing a culture of empowerment
- Strong team motivational, analytical, planning communications, organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrating initiative and maintaining document control and data integrity at all time
- Strong stakeholder management skills upholding a high standard whilst supporting stakeholders through an ongoing change and capability journey
- Strong data analytical skills to consume information from multiple sources to determine strategic direction of team to support the business
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or professional/industry recognized accreditation
