Exciting entry-level (Level A/ Level B) academic roles within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Public HealthLocated at the Sydney School of Public Health within the Camperdown CampusPart time, fixed term contract with potential for extension, base salary starting from $79,784k plus 17%superannuationAbout the opportunitySince our inception 160 years ago, the University of Sydney has led to improve the world around us. Working closely with the Program Director of Indigenous Public Health and other members of the academic team, the position will have a role in teaching and academic administration of Indigenous public health units of study within the Sydney School of Public Health and Faculty of Medicine and health covering a variety of health and wellbeing topics covered by the curriculum. You will also have opportunity to build research, evaluation and community outreach work related to Indigenous public health or other areas within the Sydney School of Public Health (SSPH), with career mentoring and exciting professional development opportunities.The University of Sydney encourages part-time and flexible working arrangements, which will be considered for this role. Applications will be considered from candidates who are not located in proximity of Sydney; however the incumbent will be required travel to Sydney to deliver teaching and attend meetings periodically.Your key responsibilities will be to:Undertake independent teaching in disciplines within the Faculty of Medicine and Health including but not limited to degrees such as - Master of Public health, Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Health Promotion, Nursing, Pharmacy and Health Sciencesundertake original and collaborative researchengage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences (at undergraduate and postgraduate level) that meet the University’s expectations and standards for educationdevelop productive relationships, collaborations, and partnerships with external parties (including research partners, government bodies, and industry) which will ultimately contribute to improved outcomes for the profession, industry, and/or communitymaintain quality, standards, and excellence in all research activities and outputs.About youRelevant tertiary qualifications in public health or in a related program focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and social and emotional wellbeing and/or culturewillingness to enroll in a Master of Philosophy in Public Health within the appointment terma broad understanding of Indigenous health, public health, social and emotional wellbeing and health promotion in the Australian and global contexta desire to develop teaching skills in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and Public Healtha demonstrated ability to provide specific support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studentswillingness to travel occasionally to deliver teaching in regional or rural locationswillingness to contribute to collaborative, community-driven research projects related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and social and emotional wellbeing.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
