The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The IUIH Legal Service is an accredited community legal centre providing quality legal advocacy, representation and referral assistance for clients.
About the Role?
The position is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient Legal Administration and support services to the IUIH Legal Service’s Child Protection project based in Logan, part time four days per week.
Day to Day Duties may Include:
- Communicate with and on behalf of the legal team with IUIH clinics and other stakeholders as required
- Attendance at legal clinic in Logan as required
- Maintain legal records in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Maintain appointment calendars
- Responsibility for ensuring that client files are maintained
About You?
- Experience in effective and proficient administration skills and practices required in a legal practice
- Excellent communication skills
- Current Blue Card
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld)
Desirable, but not mandatory:
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
