Opening in the second half of 2024 and featuring 155-rooms, three meeting spaces, a fitness centre and a bar and restaurant, Crowne Plaza Adelaide, Mawson Lakes, will be a highly sought-after destination for business and leisure travellers alike.
Our guests’ safety and comfort always comes first. Which is why Crowne Plaza Adelaide, Mawson Lakes is seeking out a master multi-tasker with the repair skills needed to keep our brand-new hotel looking and feeling its absolute best. Our Maintenance Manager (pre-opening) will lead and coach a small but talented engineering team to stay one step ahead of our everyday maintenance needs.
A little taste of your day-to-day
- Every day is different, but as part of the pre-opening team, you will play a key role in ensuring this new hotel is ready to welcome its first guests, including:
- Conduct appropriate facilities inspection, including guest rooms, public areas, back of house etc. To identify any defects in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, FF&E and coordinate with contractors and vendors on any repairs or installation prior to opening.
- Oversee procurement of hotel equipment and machinery and ensure all equipment is installed and in working order prior to opening.
- Ensure the hotel meets all safety and regulatory requirements including compliance with budling codes, fire safety regulations, and health standards.
- Recruitment of key maintenance team and coordinating onboarding and training to ensure the team is set up for success from day one and beyond.
- Maintaining and ordering parts and supplies whilst minimising waste and meeting our green initiatives.
- Work with the hotel finance partner to develop budgets and forecasts for the maintenance department.
- Liaise with contractors and vendors and maintain good working relationships for ongoing success.
- Create a preventative maintenance programme that creates a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy.
- Managing daily maintenance needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task.

- Be flexible to react to ad-hoc duties where we have to unexpectedly pull together to get a task completed.
What we need from you
- Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional certification and licence if required by law
- Hotel experience preferred
- A demonstrated capability of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and passionate about developing your team.
- Strategic thinking, the ability to explore new ways of working and have an open mind around how we can drive the Hotel forward.
- Must be fluent in English and other languages preferred.
- Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
