The College is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced and building trade qualifiedMaintenance Supervisor to join our team in a full-time ongoing role, commencing April 2024.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all operational property and maintenance matters and for ensuring that all buildings, facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard. This is a hands-on role that also provides practical leadership and daily direction to maintenance staff, to ensure all tasks are completed on time and with the least inconvenience to students and staff. The role works closely with College management to ensure that the facilities are well cared for and supports the business operations of providing high quality education.
Role Requirements
- Willing to support the Christian ethos of Northpine Christian College in the context of the employee’s professional responsibilities.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment with Queensland Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian.
- Experienced all-rounded tradesperson with a building trade qualification and a comprehensive skill base in general construction and a competent working understanding of carpentry and building.
- Practical person with an eye for detail and proven hands-on building repairs/maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated success in organising multiple and diverse tasks within a flexible and busy working environment, with a hands-on attitude and a willingness to perform manual tasks and lead by example.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills including demonstrated experience in managing teams to set goals and achieving these goals within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating daily and weekly maintenance works, in conjunction with other operational school needs including attending and setting up school events.
- Experienced in facilities and maintenance management software.
- Have the full capability and understanding to apply Workplace Health & Safety Standards in relation to all relevant maintenance functions.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- IT literate and proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Hold a current manual driver’s license and forklift license.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm during critical incidents.
The successful applicant must be hardworking, have demonstrated building experience and qualifications, be self-driven and experienced in working alongside of and managing staff.
