Doral Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (DMS), mines and processes heavy mineral sands at Picton, Yalyalup and Keysbrook in the Southwest of WA. This multi-faceted role will provide an excellent opportunity if you enjoy a challenge and being an integral part of a small, motivated maintenance team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent and based primarily at our Keysbrook mine site, the ideal candidate will be a trade qualified mechanical fitter with experience on the tools, planning and an ability to lead other employees. 

The position will be responsible for the successful completion of the following duties and roles:

• Manage the trade skills (mechanical & electrical) necessary to maintain the DMS plant so as to ensure production targets and plant availability is maintained
• Liaise closely with Production personnel and nurture a team ownership approach to Maintenance
• Ensure that Mechanical inspections and testing are carried out in accordance with the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations i.e. itinerant plant inspections
• Planning, scheduling and contract liaison of maintenance shutdowns
• Planning and organising daily and weekly maintenance schedules
• Liaising with operational coordinators to finalise priorities for maintenance and minor project work
• Supervising contract labour, apprentices and other labour as necessary to complete maintenance work, including electrical.

Key factors to your success include;

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Self motivated with excellent problem solving skills
• Experience with maintenance management system - Pronto
• Proficient skills in MS Office suit
• Previous experience with Microsoft Project is advantageous
• A genuine commitment to the wellbeing and safety for yourself and your work colleagues
