Manager Communications and Engagement

Chandler Macleod is thrilled to announce our partnership with Moira Shire to assist in the appointment of an Manager of Communications and Engagement
This position is key to strategically defining and communicating Council's corporate vision and values. This is done by establishing a broad based marketing and communications approach that is aligned to Council's vision and the delivery of the Council Plan.
The objectives, of this role are to:

• Lead the organisation's efforts to promote Council's brand and enhance its reputation. This will be through strategic, thoughtful and transparent Communications and innovative marketing.
• Promote Council in a manner that excites and encourages community engagement and participation.
• Recognise and action opportunities to improve Council's relationship and communication with the community.
• Identify and assess risks that may lead to negative publicity, poor public perception and threats to the organisation's well-being.
• Ensure corporate messages are consistent and delivered in a professional manner.
• Model expected behaviors and values that others will be motivated to follow and deliver quality outcomes based on a continuous improvement and high performance culture.
• Effectively manage the Unit's resources in accordance with the Council's policies and audit requirements.
• Proactively monitor the ever-changing media environment and community sentiment to capitalise on emerging trends and identify and mitigating risks and their impact on Council; and
• Assist Moira Shire Council's crisis communications, including in times of community emergency. This requires keeping up-to-date with contemporary trends in emergency communications methodology and technology.

You will have

• Experience in delivering high level and comprehensive marketing, communications strategies specifically in a service based organisation with a customer centric service model to achieve excellence in the Communications and marketing space.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and implementing communication and marketing plans that support the vision of an organisation
