Your New Role

The Manager, Investment Specialist role will report to the Senior Manager, Investment Governance & Communications and will:

1. Develop and maintain a sophisticated investment narrative and strategically position Aware Super investments to support channel-led investment activity and the broader business strategy, with a B2B, B2C and institutional channel focus;

2. Act as a conduit between the investment team and the B2B, B2C and institutional facing teams, and communicate clearly investment market, asset class and portfolio management concepts, in the context of our investment approach and the investments that we hold.

How do you exceed our expectations?

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications specific to the finance industry covering investments and superannuation, with an understanding of the regulatory environment we operate in.
• Minimum of ten years' experience within funds management/superannuation. Time spent in research house management, multi-manager Investment Specialist or institutional client service, or product management role would be viewed favourably.
• Familiarity with the full spectrum of asset classes (including unlisted assets) and derivatives.
• Sound understanding of financial markets & instruments and the regulatory issues, industry standards, workings and practices associated with them.
• Demonstrated comprehension of complex data sets and the ability to interpret appropriate output for different audiences.
• Outstanding written and verbal reasoning skills, with concise and clear messaging, and a high degree of attention to detail
• Eminent ability to deliver a competitive and strategic narrative for investments as appropriate to different channels
• Expert PowerPoint and other presentation skills
• Demonstrable project management skills and the ability to juggle the responsibility for delivery multiple projects at a time.
• Exceptional interpersonal, networking and communication skills, both internal and external facing
• You are balanced in accepting risk in any decision you face. You are curious to understand risk context and choose to speak up as we simplify, learn and grow.
