What You Will Be Doing
The Manager, Workforce Health & Safety is a leadership & specialist role within the People Operations & Performance team and is responsible for setting the team’s vision and strategy in line with the needs of its key stakeholders, and leads the team to realise that strategy.
The position is responsible for working with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that Peninsula Health has effective risk, injury and illness prevention, management and return to work systems and processes in place, which meet legislative requirements, and ensures a safe and healthy environment for staff and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement activities which actively reduce the risk of workplace injury or illness to our staff
- Providing practical assistance to Workforce Health & safety team members including the direct management of cases as required and by providing a point of escalation for complex or difficult matters
- Develop an approach to strengthen the formal and informal consultation processes that occur across Peninsula Health to ensure that OHS is proactively managed across each site
- Manage, develop and coach the Workforce Wellbeing & Safety team members to ensure all functions are high performing and compliant with relevant legislative requirements and other relevant external mandates
- Assist the Director to implement the Peninsula Health strategic plan to align People Operations & Performance team policies, practices and programs to the organisations strategy and business direction
What You Need
We anticipate you will have:
- Extensive experience in Work Health and Safety.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Occupational Health and Safety and WorkCover Management
- Proven experience in delivering on innovative and best practice strategies and programs in Workplace Health and Safety
- Demonstrated understanding and working application of Occupational Health and Safety and WorkCover legislation
- ICAM Certification
- Experience with the ISO45001 Standard
