About the role

Our role offers a unique opportunity to develop your career, and to see your engineering designs become a reality in our adjacent fabrication workshop.  FCF Fabrication is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Mechanical Draftsperson to join our team.  This full-time permanent position is based in our Prestons office – south west Sydney. 

Qualifications & Experience

• Cert IV in Engineering Drafting (or similar) focusing on Mechanical or Manufacturing drafting.
• Proficient with technical drawing programs and 2D -3D modelling 
• Min 4 years mechanical design drafting experience in a workshop environment, incl. structural steel weldments and sheet metal development
• Familiarisation with relevant Australian Standards including Structural Steel, Handrails & Access platforms
• Trade background or other tertiary qualification in industrial design or Engineering desirable but not essential. 

Skills

• Have a general knowledge of the fabrication and welding process
• Be able to follow instructions / drawing requests. 
• Have attention to detail
• Ability to think creatively and engineer solutions for any problem that may arise in day-to-day operations
• Drive for success and be proactive to improve on current processes.
• Able to multi-task on different projects at once
• Have excellent time management skills. 
• Need to have fluent clear English 
• Able to communicate at all levels.
