About the role:
If you like variety, we are currently seeking a highly motivated Medical Receptionist/ Ophthalmic Technician to take on a diverse, challenging and fast-paced role on a casual basis.
You will be supporting our Admin team with administration and reception duties such as: patient check-in/check out; answering calls, scheduling appointments; actioning recalls; processing patient letters.
You will also have the exciting opportunity to support our Clinical Team on an ad-hoc basis with the following tasks:
- Operating a range of ophthalmic equipment including Heidelberg Spectralis ocular coherence tomographer and Zeiss Visual Field analyser, iTrace wavefront aberrometer/topographer, Lenstar biometer and Eidon retinal camera (training will be provided as necessary)
- Patient consultation including history-taking, measurement of visual acuity and intraocular pressures
- Recording and typing patient consultations in Clinic to Cloud electronic practice management software
- Collaborating and multi-tasking in a team of technicians and optometrists • Assisting ophthalmologists in minor operations
- Assisting with clinical reports
- Maintaining medical stock supplies and sterilisation of instruments
- Ensuring equipment and stock required for ophthalmologist consultation is available
About you:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- General computer proficiency and familiarity with MS 365 suite
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current Police clearance of less than 12 months old (or willing to obtain)
- Exemplary communication, time management, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Patient-focused approach with genuine empathy and interest in our patients needs .
- General computer proficiency and familiarity with MS Word & Excel, proficient typing capacity is favourable.
- Positive and proactive attitude.
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task.
- Willingness to learn.
- Previous Eye experience desirable.
