An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join the happy team at East Gippsland Skin Cancer Clinic in Metung.
EGSCC is a growing private medical clinic located in beautiful Metung on the Gippsland Lakes in modern facilities. We specialise in all aspects of skin cancer including skin checks, diagnosis, surgical removal of skin cancers, post operative care, further specialist referral when necessary and recall/reminder service. We offer high quality patient care and currently open 4 days per week (not Wednesdays).
An opportunity has arisen for a casual position on our administration team, initially with a regular Friday fortnightly and moving to 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays) in a few months. This is a customer focused role and includes patient reception, billing, making appointments, taking phone calls, stock control, setting up and cleaning of the procedure room and communicating with health professionals. It is a fast paced work environment and requires the ability to multi task and work alone on a daily basis. You will be given training and ongoing support.
Previous experience with Best Practice software, previous medical administration and medical terminology is highly favoured. The ability to learn and adapt is essential.

Education, Qualifications and Experience
Essential
Able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, particularly the elderly

Maintain acceptable vaccination status, as required by Victorian law
Desirable
Previous experience in General Practice /medical environment
Proficient in Windows OS and Microsoft software
Knowledge of medical software, in particular Best Practice software.
Understanding of medical terminology
Experience in receipting and invoicing of accounts, with an understanding of Medicare/DVA item numbers

Hours of Work
Hours of work will be in accordance with the practice's opening hours and needs. This is initially a casual position, moving to a job share position of 2 regular days per week, with holiday and sick leave coverage expected when needed. On occasion it is expected that staff will work extra time when it is required to deliver excellent patient care.
