Rural Doctors Pty Ltd are seeking a part time Medical Receptionist for the Kaniva Medical Centre 20 - 25 hours per week (3 or 4 days). Rural Doctors offer a full range of general practice services in Nhill, Kaniva & Edenhope, and are committed to providing high quality healthcare to our rural communities.
We are looking for an energetic team member to work in a friendly environment providing an exceptional standard of care for the patients.
The ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills and high attention to detail with a strong focus on customer service, be punctual, flexible, and possess a proven ability to work autonomously.
Prior experience is not required as training will be provided, however reception or admin experience will an advantage.
The role will include, but not be limited to; general reception duties, answering phones, scheduling appointments, patient billing, management of patient records, supporting the GP and liaising with other medical professionals.
Renumeration as per the Health Professionals and Support Services Award [MA000027].

About the Role:
A Medical Receptionist is responsible for coordinating daily administration tasks, attend to patients on the phone and in person. Coordinate and organise appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the medical practice environment and provide an exceptional standard of care to our patients.
Administration
• Preparing and recording outgoing mail.
• Open and distribute incoming mail.
• Scanning and/or filing patient correspondence, results etc.
• Maintain accurate patient information.
• Responsible for daily Medicare and Veterans Affairs claims.
• Balance daily receipts.
Other Duties
• To actively participate in general staff meetings.
• To attend training sessions in-house and external courses when required.
• General housekeeping such as tidying and cleaning of waiting room etc. when necessary.
• To undertake other duties as required from time to time by the Practice Manager, Nurses and Doctors.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles including infection control.
• Check suggestion box and restock suggestion forms.
• Consistently be aware of WHS requirements and comply with them.

Skills and Experience
Experience as a medical professional and familiarity with best practise or medical director software is preferred.
