SalaryExcellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary/PA to join a fast paced, and dynamic specialist surgery practice located in Fitzroy.
The primary function of this position is to provide administrative support to two of our surgeons. The successful candidate must have the ability to work within a team environment.
About the business:
The Melbourne Surgical Group is comprised of 8 independent consultant surgeons in and around the areas of Colorectal Surgery, Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery, General Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopy, Diagnostic and Interventional Endoscopy and ERCP.
About the role:
This role involves care of hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) surgical patients.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Secretarial and PA support to 2 surgeons
- Managing consulting - meet & greet
- Managing patient appointments - setting, confirming and rescheduling
- Managing theatre and procedure lists
- Accounts (reporting and reconciling aged debtors)
- General administration - phones, emails, scanning etc
- Liaising with patients, hospital staff, anaesthetists, referrers
- Patient invoicing and receipting (Medicare, DVA, Private Health Funds)
- Support office staff of ad hoc tasks
- Audio typing
To be successful in this position you will have:
- Intermediate to Advanced Genie software skills preferred
- Significant experience in a similar role as a Medical Secretary
- Strong communication and medical typing skills
- Sound knowledge of health fund contracts
- Problem solving skills and scrupulous attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Superior people skills
- Drive and high levels of motivation
- The desire to rise to challenges
- A professional, warm and articulate manner
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
