Seeking an Exceptional Medical Receptionist for a Leading Psychiatric Practice

Salary: $35- $40 per hour (inclusive of super) based on dedication and performance)
Type: Part-Time (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday)

Your Role:
In this pivotal role, you will be the heart of our practice's daily operations, managing patient interactions with empathy and efficiency. We seek an individual who can gracefully navigate the bustling nature of our practice, ensuring operations run smoothly and effectively, allowing us to focus on delivering the best possible care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently manage a variety of patient communications including a large volume of incoming phone calls, ensuring a seamless and empathic experience for patients who have to wait for their requests in between their reviews to be actioned.
Multitasking and prioritising between the practice’s extremely inbox and the voluminous incoming phone calls.
Booking new appointments and review appointments (as required).
Processing payments and rebates.
Maintain meticulous patient records, manage appointments, and process referrals.
Handing medicare rebates in a timely manner.
Following up on outstanding payments with diligence.
Keeping digital and paper files organized, utilising Google Drive and Halaxy,
Ensuring every new patient has all the required paperwork, received and placed on electronic file prior to the patients’ review with the doctor.
Efficient and timely liaison between the patient, the doctor, patient’s family (or next-ok-kin), pharmacist, patient’s referring GP and other stakeholders - where relevant- for any outstanding scripts and letters, etc follwoing the patient appointment with the doctor.
Provide essential support to the psychiatrist by managing operational and administrative tasks, and optimizing the practice's workflow.
Who We're Looking For:
A high-energy, reliable, extremely passionate, friendly individual who excels in fast-paced environments and is able to priorotise multiple incoming tasks.
Superior organizational and communication (empathic, respectful, both verbal and written) skills.
Experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role is preferred, but not mandatory.
Familiarity with medical billing, Medicare processes, and patient management software is advantageous.
A compassionate approach to patient interaction, particularly with our ASD and ADHD patients.
Willing and eager to learn new systems.
Ability to be a friendly and compassionate team worker and to extend helping hands to others when situation gets busy and tough for everyone.
