About You

The Microsoft Modern Work Pre Sales Specialistmust be the expert source of information for our partners and help educate them on Microsoft cloud offerings, positioning, and joint selling strategies. You will also provide expertise on the business and technical value of Microsoft’s public cloud offerings versus the competition. You will possess technical depth as well as solid business knowledge of Microsoft and competitive public Cloud Providers and offerings. The successful candidate will be prepared to assist partners through multiple stages of a customer engagement cycle, including:

  • Partner recruitment, identification, engagement, and pre-sales assistance
  • Envisioning and conceptual solution design
  • Ability to lead strategy engagements that develop roadmaps or transition plans based on guidance from senior business stakeholders
  • Consultation to help productise and monetise Microsoft solutions, integrated into broader managed service offerings

What you will do in the role

  • Entrepreneurial and motivated individual interested in building a book of business around a set of offerings, capabilities, solutions in the market-place.
  • Ability to define and demonstrate expertise in both the business outcomes and technology aspects of the salesplay.
  • Experience in working with various GTM & Sales channels, support sales and drive business.
  • Ability to work with partners and drive joint business for Dicker Data and Microsoft.
  • Experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration considerations.
  • Achieve assigned revenue and Usage/Consumption Microsoft targets across the region and drive the team and individual targets.  
  • Work closely with partners to facilitate partner and customer onboarding into M365, driving partner activation in premium workloads and New net paid seat adds.
  • Ensure successful cloud adoption and migrations into M365.
  • Drive sales execution through partner by enabling and influencing.
  • Confident chairing of partner/customer workshops and solution presentations.
  • Work closely with other Practice Leads to help build a unified Cloud initiative and drive great utilisation and cloud adoption in our partner base.
  • Liaising with key Microsoft and other vendor contacts to drive pre-sales and strategic opportunities.
  • Accountable for deliverables of vendor investment programs including accurate reporting, correct team rhythms, pipeline/partner reviews and drive gaps plan where applicable.
  • A desire to continue to work in a hands-on environment and keenly interested in public cloud technology.
  • Determine methods of integration between on-premises and cloud solutions to meet customer requirements. 
  • A successful candidate should also be able to deliver persuasive presentations to both technical and business decision makers, have a strong commitment to customer service and be knowledgeable in strategic planning.
  • Keep up to date with market trends related to Microsoft business, including cyber security, productivity, and collaboration.

What you will need to succeed in the role

Essential experience:

  • A solid understanding of cloud computing, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and Cloud design patterns.
  • Understand whole solution architecture concepts and able to communicate and negotiate designs with customer architects.
  • Expertise in IT governance and compliance.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security trends and legislation including Essential 8, Notifiable Data Breach legislation, NIST, HIPPA etc.
  • Knowledge of M365 related solutions including Endpoint Manager, Autopilot, Intune, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, M365 Compliance (Azure Information Protection, Microsoft Information Protection), Data Loss Prevention, Insider Risk Management.
  • Proven experience being accountable for major migration projects.
  • Experience in having reduced total cost of ownership through innovative use of public cloud.
  • Able to devise novel migration approaches when migrating unsupported systems.
  • Ability to simplify and clearly communicate technical designs, both high level and low level through conversation, documentation, SoW and presentations.
  • Ability to make effective decisions within a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to manage a team in the delivery of migration plans.
  • Knowledge of cloud automation services and tooling.
  • Active participation in knowledge sharing activities, both within the team and at a wider capability level and externally where appropriate.   
  • Expertise in utilising the latest migration approaches and technologies including Skykick and BitTitan MigrationWiz.

Desirable experience:

  • Expertise in Cloud Migration and demonstrable experience of having successfully migrated a customer to a major public cloud platform (AWS/Google/Azure).
  • Expertise in using public cloud platforms (AWS/Google/Azure) to build solutions solving business problems and making innovative use of SaaS and PaaS offerings.
  • Has pro-actively developed business across an account with sales and account managers.
  • Able to prioritise their time across multiple projects.
  • Actively shares their thoughts and views on technology.
  • Has participated in technology communities.
  • Expertise in using multiple public cloud providers.

Desirable certifications:

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert – MS-102
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate – SC-300
  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate – SC-400
