OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting part-time (3 or 4 days) opportunity for a Risk Management and Compliance Lawyer to join our Audit & Risk team based out of any of our offices. This internal role will contribute to the firm’s effective management of its operational risks and provide support to our staff to ensure optimal client service and compliance with ethical obligations.
In this role you’ll work closely with the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee and be responsible for:
- Managing and conducting file matter reviews and internal compliance audits across the firm.
- Identifying, reporting and assisting implementation of process and compliance enhancements from these audits.
- Monitoring legislative updates and implementing relevant changes to policies and procedures, as required.
- Assisting with the management of the firm’s regulatory and court compliance and with any matter complaints and claims, including liaising with regulators, insurers, clients and third parties.
- Fostering a supportive culture for lawyers to raise matter issues or concerns and providing practical advice.
- Assisting with the development and delivery of training across the firm in relation to claims, risk areas, trends and ethical issues that may arise.
ABOUT YOU
To be the successful applicant, you will ideally have:
- 5-8 years PQE with demonstrated experience in litigious matters.
- A passion for compliance and risk mitigation.
- Exceptional organisational skills with great attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
You will need to be:
- A self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
- A strategic and creative self-starter.
- A team player who can take direction.
- The ability to build trust and foster professional internal relationships.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake and satisfy a National Police Records Check.
