The Role:
Polaris is looking for a highly motivated individual to take responsibility for the Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) Sales Team across Australia and New Zealand. The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading Polaris’ Australian & New Zealand field sales team and accountable for developing and implementing Field Sales strategy along with exceeding sales, revenue and profit objectives for the ORV business unit. This leadership role focuses on both short and long-term priorities to ensure the ongoing success and profitable and sustainable growth of the market leading Polaris brand in ANZ. The National Sales Manager ORV will also play a key role in the expansion and evolution of our independently-owned dealer network, working closely with the National Manager – Retail Channels and Training to increase the size, scope and sophistication of the retail channel. This role will also have a high level of involvement in inventory management and product planning to ensure the business has the product to support growth whilst promoting efficient and responsible practices.
The National Sales Manager must be a highly results driven individual, business coach, network development expert, relationship builder and inspirational leader.
You will be responsible for:
- Exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales, revenue, market share and profit targets
- Develop Sales strategy within both Australia and New Zealand to align with goals set by ORV leadership and partners within the business
- Direct management of field-based Retail Development Managers covering dealers across Australia & New Zealand; motivates and provides overall leadership
- Create, drive and manage territory-based and dealer-based sales/revenue targets
- Support Retail Development Managers to source and identify prospective dealer candidates which meet Polaris minimum standards
- Benchmark existing dealers and formulate plans to increase the scope and performance of each dealer
- Partner with National Manager – Retail Channels and Training to deliver and manage Dealer Training in various areas on an ongoing basis
- Maintain healthy inventory levels in Polaris’ and dealer stock as per the company’s inventory plan
- Actively seek market feedback and contribute to Polaris’ product plan to ensure market opportunities are captured
- Encourages team sharing of new ideas, best practices, and is innovative in driving retail performance and dealer profitability
The ideal candidate must possess the following to be successful:
- 5+ years automotive or similar industry experience
- Good understanding of and experience in commercial/dealer business operations
- An outstanding communicator who has their finger constantly on the pulse of the market and the dealers
- A strong and strategic leader, capable of providing effective team and business leadership
- A drive and passion for success and growth
- Flexible and agile mindset and can handle multiple competing priorities
- Sound problem solving and decision - making skills
- An inspirational leader who can motivate their team and dealer network to new heights
