Reporting directly to the CEO your role is to continue to build a safety-first culture throughout the entire organisation nationally. This role has direct reports situated at each site across Australia. We're seeking an experienced industry professional with a background in operations for a senior Health & Safety position. You should possess outstanding influencing skills, agility, and awareness to further enhance a robust safety culture. Your extensive career in Work Health and Safety should be accompanied by advanced communication, negotiation, decision-making, and analytical abilities, as well as exceptional stakeholder management skills.
The roles and responsibilities of the WHS Manager will include:
- Collaboration and assistance in the implementation of WHS plans and strategies across all sites.
- Coordination and reporting of risks and incidents.
- Assist executive and senior management in understanding their WHS responsibilities and accountability.
- Creating and maintaining a program for training, audits, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and contractor management
- Reviewing the safety performance of each Business Unit against benchmarks and defining and monitoring performance targets related to WHS metrics.
- Create and deliver safety orientations, as well as take part in workplace incident investigations.
- Minimum of 8 years in a Senior WHS position or a comparable role.
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS or an equivalent level of professional in a comparable environment.
- The perfect candidate will have experience in the blue-collar industry, specifically FMCG, Transport, Logistics and Warehousing.
- Great communication skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Excellent consultation, negotiation, and facilitation abilities.
