Job description
The Minister for Agriculture is seeking expressions of interest from a non-veterinary applicant Community Member to join the Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria (the Veterinary Board).
The Veterinary Board is a statutory authority responsible for regulating veterinary practitioners in Victoria. The Veterinary Board's primary objective is to protect the public and the health and welfare of animals through the administration of the Veterinary Practice Act 1997. The Veterinary Board is appointed for a three-year period, which commenced in June 2022.
The Veterinary Board consists of nine members:
* four registered veterinary practitioners (small animal, equine and production animal experience highly regarded);
* one legal practitioner;
* two non-veterinarians with experience in finance and business management, legal practice or the use of veterinary services;
* one Victorian Government representative; and
* a University of Melbourne employed registered veterinary practitioner.
